Baghdatis Upsets Nadal

 Baghdatis MW

Marcos Baghdatis continued his run in Cincinnati with his third win against a seeded opponent, although the other two pale in comparison to the monumental upset of top seed Rafael Nadal on Friday night.

The match was a back-and-forth battle with neither player being able to claim the momentum for more than a game. When Nadal broke Baghdatis in the very last game of the second set, it looked as though he would cruise to the victory. Baghdatis kept his poise and the third set remained on serve until Baghdatis broke Nadal in a dramatic ninth game. Serving for the match, Baghdatis took the decisive tenth game and the match winning 6-4, 4-6, 6-4.

Baghdatis will play three time champion Roger Federer in the night match Saturday. Federer leads the series 6-1.
