Attendance Up 23% from 2010

The 2011 Western & Southern Open, a combined event for the first time in the Open Era, is seeing record attendance numbers. Each session this year has seen packed Center Court and Grandstand stadiums during the day and night.
 
Overall, there’s a 20-25 percent increase in each session from 2010.
 
The very first day’s session at the Lindner Family Tennis Center saw the tournament’s highest attendance ever with 13, 204 people catching the world’s top tennis talent.
 
During Wednesday’s day session, 12, 228 fans witnessed huge surprises in Cincinnati, including when American teenager Christina McHale defeated World No.1 Caroline Wozniacki and semifinalist at the Olympus US Open Series event in Los Angeles Alex Bogomolov Jr. took out 2011 Montreal semifinalist Jo-Wilfried Tsonga.
 
Meanwhile, more than 23, 000 people are coming through turnstiles on the busiest days.
 
Witness the action as Novak Djokovic, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, Mardy Fish, Vera Zvonareva, Andrea Petkovic, Jelena Jankovic and Shuai Peng battle it out at one of the largest tournaments in professional tennis.
 
By purchasing a $25 grounds pass, arrive at the Lindner Family Tennis Center in the morning and catch tennis all the way into the early evening with opportunities to watch some of the world’s best athletes fighting for the title in singles and doubles on the outer courts.
