With a little more than two months until the tournament starts, construction on the new West Building is rapidly approaching completion.  The 52,000 square-foot building will add 750 new, covered Loge seats and six new luxury suites as well as increase seating capacity in the northwest corner by 140.

There is more to the West Building than increased seating capacity, though. The ground floor includes 21,000 square feet of locker rooms, fitness facilities and training areas for the players and coaches. Above that, is a new player dining area and lounge which includes a 4,800 square foot outdoor terrace where players will be able to kick back and relax in between matches.

Topping off the new addition is a state-of-the-art media center featuring over 100 reporter stations and four new interview rooms including a large main press room.

The new addition is just the first phase of a major grounds overhaul planned over the coming years.  With the combined event in 2011 on the horizon, the spectator experience will only improve with the addition of new show courts, enhanced concourses and more tennis for all.
