Most fans come from Ohio, followed by Kentucky, Indiana, Michigan, West Virginia, Tennessee, Illinois and Pennsylvania. Fans have traveled to the tournaments from many nations, including Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Great Britain, Ireland, Japan, Mexico, Switzerland, Uruguay and Venezuela.

The Western and Southern Financial Group Masters and Women's Open is owned and operated by Cincinnati Tennis, LLC. The United States Tennis Association (USTA) is a majority owner of Cincinnati Tennis LLC. The tournament contributes to Cincinnati Children's Hospital Medical Center, the U.C. Barrett Cancer Institute at University Hospital and Tennis for City Youth.
