Volunteers
Thank you for your interest in volunteering for the Western & Southern Financial Group Masters & Women鈥檚 Open! The information below outlines all information as it relates to volunteering and the online registration process.
Volunteer Requirements
Being a volunteer requires hard work, dedication, and commitment. As a volunteer you will be required to:
路 Work a minimum of eight (8) shifts over the two tournaments or five (5) shifts during one.
路 Report to your assigned shift at least 15 minutes prior to your shift start time.
路 Agree to the volunteer waiver.
路 Be available for training and uniform pick-up prior to the tournament at a time designated by the tournaments.
路 Follow all rules and guidelines set forth by the tournament staff.
路 Be a goodwill ambassador for the tournaments while on- and off-duty.
Volunteer Benefits
Volunteering has benefits! Not only do you get the personal pride and excitement of being involved with the tournaments, you also will receive the following benefits:
路 Two tournament volunteer collared shirts by adidas.
路 One tournament volunteer hat by adidas.
路 Two tickets to the evening session on Saturday, July 26th (Seniors Event) (if you work the W&SFG Masters).
路 Two tickets to the evening session on Monday, August 11th of the W&SFG Women鈥檚 Open (if you work the women鈥檚 tournament).
路 Exclusive souvenir volunteer pin.
路 Volunteer dining & lounge area that includes complimentary light snacks/refreshments and discounted lunches and dinners available for $5 each.
路 Complimentary volunteer parking in a dedicated area.
路 Discount in the merchandise tent during the volunteer sale held on Final Sundays (up to 50% off).
Volunteer Opportunities
There are more than 35 committees that make up our volunteer system. Click Here to see a list of all available volunteer positions and their descriptions.
Please note: In the system you will be asked to choose a volunteer committee. If you are a returning volunteer, please check the committee you served last year. If you are a new volunteer, please choose two committees that most interest you; however, you will only be assigned to one committee.

Ballpersons
Requirements:
To be a ballperson, you must meet the following requirements:
路 You must be 12 years of age by August 1st, 2008.
路 Tryouts will take place on Saturday, June 7th & Sunday, June 8th from 8am-10:30am at the tournament site. Both days are mandatory for all new and second year ballpersons.
路 Ballpersons who are available to work both tournaments will be given priority during the selection process.
路 You must be available to work all day and possibly evening from Friday, July 25 through the Wednesday, July 30th for the W&SFG Masters and Saturday, August 9th through Wednesday, August 13th for the W&SFG Women鈥檚 Open. Ballpersons will be selected on an as needed basis from Thursday through Sunday of each tournament.
路 A $100 check is required before tryouts, which includes the cost of ballpersons tennis shoes and a $60 deposit to be refunded after fulfilling commitment.
路 Agree to the volunteer waiver.
路 Ballpersons must possess speed and agility as well as a strong understanding of tennis rules and etiquette.
